RUNS flowed at Appley last night when Ashbrittle beat Wellington by 22 runs in a midweek 20/20 friendly.
Ashbrittle scored 157-6 and Wellington replied with 135-7.
Ashbrittle were 66-5 at one stage but Jack Bradbury and Luke Williams added 68 for the home side's sixth wicket as they put their foot down and scored at a double figure rate towards the end of the innings.
Paul Short scored 12 off Wellington's first over but soon Ashbrittle were bowling with accuracy and good line and length.
Marc Holloway and Des Campbell worked a neat third wicket stand for Wellington before Joel Brockley, with a hard-hitting 57, made a brave contribution without reward.
