BEN Rich stole the show for Spaxton as they crushed Chilton Polden II by seven wickets in Division 8S of the Somerset Cricket League.

Rich took 5-19 to help dismiss Chilton for just 65 batting first, while H Buller and D Pople both returned figures of 2-13.

In reply, Spaxton had little trouble in sealing the win, with Dominic Court 17no at the finish.

Elsewhere in the division, North Petherton beat Watchet 33 runs thanks to solid contributions from E Stone (46) and T Everett (42).

The pair helped Pethy post 182-4 batting first, before S Briffett (3-26) and S Frost (3-29) combined to bowl Watchet out for just 149.

In Division Two, Kilve were 77-run victors over North Newton courtesy of a half-century from A Martin (77).

He top scored as Kilve posted 197-7 batting first, while E martin added 39.

In reply, North Newton slumped to 120 all out - T Gadsby (34) and W Gadsby (20) top scored.

In Division Six, Chilton Polden slipped to a heavy defeat at Taunton 'A', despite scoring 201 batting first.

J Gardner (57no) and P Kennard (49) took Chilton to a competitive total, but Taunton were rarely troubled in pursuit and reached their target with eight wickets in hand.

Wembdon Wyverns fell 55 runs short at Taunton St Andrews 'A' in Division Seven.

Chasing 206 to win, Wembdon were all out for 150 - B Stone scored 34 and A Rees took 3-46.
