Bridgwater A 146-6 beat North Petherton 133-7 by 13 runs
BRIDGWATER A took another scalp from higher league opposition as they beat North Petherton to book them a quarter final tie away at Weston II on Wednesday July 2.
Bridgwater's opening pair of Hallard and Hewson, set the foundations early on finding the boundary on regular occasions.
Hallard departed first for 17 and was soon followed by Hill 0.
Osmant and Haste didn't trouble the scorers, which left the game in the balance at 55-4 off 10 overs.
But captain Andison and his old stalwart Hewson steadied the ship & took the game to Pethy putting on stand of 82, before Andison departed for a well made 44.
Hewson followed the ball after for good innings of 48.
Bridgwater ended finishing on 146-6.
Pethy's stand out bowler was T Lambert 2-13 - and he was well supported by S Briffett (4-24) and the ever reliable Lewis Irish (0-17).
Owen Irish & T Williams batted with care and brutality at times, putting on a first wicket stand of 72, before Irish was cleaned bowled by Knight for 30.
Williams looked in total control taking the game away from Bridgwater with some sensible cricket, but Andison had other ideas, bowling Williams for a well made 37 - and when Lloyd Irish 18 was caught behind by the fossil Coombs in the same over, the game was in the balance at 100 for 4 of 14 overs.
The Bridgwater bowlers spear headed by the captain took the initiative and restricted the Pethy to 133-7, to win by 13 runs.
