Bridgwater 74-1 beat Keynsham 73 by nine wickets

MATT Habberfield was in fine form with the ball as Bridgwater II crushed Keynsham by nine wickets on Saturday.

The spinner took 5-15 from six overs to help bowl Keynsham out for just 73 batting first, before Kyran Devitt (34no) guided Bridgwater over the finish line in quick fire time.

Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, Bridgwater made early inroads as Ian Higgins (2-17) and Devitt (1-6) removed the top order to leave Keynsham 35-3.

Ed Habberfield (2-18) claimed the first of his two wickets shortly after, before Matt Habberfield took charge.

From 38-5, Keynsham flopped to 73 all out, with Matt taking the final four wickets of the innings to return impressive figures and put Bridgwater firmly in the driving seat.

And the batsman wasted little time in the chase, with Ben Coombes hitting three boundaries before being trapped LBW by Chris Britton for 13.

Josh Horler (19no) and Kyran Devitt continued the onslaught, with Devitt in particular going on the attack to hit seven fours in his 28-ball innings.

Victory was sealed in the 14th over with the last of Devitt's boundaries, to seal a a resounding victory for Bridgwater.
