TAUNTON and Pickeridge Ladies enjoyed another sunny day for their Hawkes Salver and Cup competitions.

The Hawkes Salver Silver Division was won by Roishin Burree with 36 points but only after countback put her ahead of Jane Ledsham who returned with the same score, while Mary-Jo Shepherd was third with 35.

The Hawkes Cup Stableford (Bronze Division) was won by Sheila Beresford with 36 points Linda Knowles was second with 34 points after countback put her ahead of Liz Steven with the same score, with Elaine Payne was fourth with 34.

Twos were recorded by Jane Ledsham and Rosie Spragg.

The T&P Seniors’ Mixed Open was held on Friday 13 June 2014 when 18 Fourball teams that took part. The format was a Bowmaker Stableford with the best two scores to count.

The winning team was Trevor Ray, Viv Hornsey, Ted & Sue Shillibeer, all from Park Wood GC in Kent with 80 points, but only after countback put them ahead of David Harris (Lanishen), Anna Rees, Gerry Mulder (both T&P) and Eve Bolton (Enmore Park GC).

Longest Drive for Men on the 5th Hole was won by Glyn Aitken from Saunton, while for the Ladies on the 11th it was Cynthia Miller from Farrington Park who was the winner.

The Nearest Pin for Men on the 16th Hole was won by Bob Cook from Sidmouth, while for the Ladies on 2nd hole it was Patricia Rawlings from The Mendip who triumphed.

Taunton and Pickeridge will be holding their Membership Open Day on Sunday June 22 when there will be a range of activities taking place including a free golf clinic and an opportunity to experience the course from 2pm onwards.

There will also be incentives available to those who transfer from other clubs.
