Burnham II 160 lost to Taunton Deane Crusaders 165-6 by four wickets
A HALF-century from Pete Gaylard wasn’t enough for Burnham II as they went down by four wickets to Taunton Deane Crusaders on Saturday.
Gaylard hit 54 to help Burnham to 160 all out and was well supported by S Shannugam (26) and L Coles (27).
J Ponte (3-40) and P Batstone (3-26) were the pick of the Deane bowlers, as a lower middle order collapse saw Burnham bowled out inside 45 overs.
In reply, Cain Harding (1-29) made an early breakthrough, removing H Smith without scoring – but 55 from J Harris, 31 from S Akhtar and an unbeaten 33 from S Witt condemned Burnham II to their second defeat of the season.
