TOM Bellinger put in a stunning all-round display to help Spaxton to a comfortable sixwicket victory over Wembdon Academy in Division 8S of the Somerset Cricket League.

Bellinger took 3-24 to help bowl Wembdon out for just 111 before smashing an unbeaten 51 to see his side home.

H. Buller (3-25) and R. Brewer (3-38) also starred with the ball for Spaxton, while J. Prior (24) top scored for Wembdon Academy.

Elsewhere in the division, Bridgwater Sports were emphatic five-wicket winners at Watchet, thanks to an unbeaten 42 from C. Savage.

Savage’s controlled knock saw Sports cruise to their victory target of 122 after J. Winter (4- 32) had torn through the Watchet batting.

In Division 6, a match-winning century from J. Gardner saw Chilton Polden ease to a 122-run victory over Purnells.

Gardner (106) and L. Birch (53) took Chilton to an imposing 268-9 before P. Kennard (5-36) ensured Purnells only reached 146 in reply.

In Division One, Dan Rossiter’s five-wicket haul wasn’t enough to see Bridgwater A to victory as they went down by 13 to Ashbrittle.

Rossiter (5-38) rattled through Ashbrittle to restrict them to 224-9, and Bridgwater A looked well set in reply, but D. Hallaran (84) and E.

Knight (21) were unable to see them to the win.

Elsewhere, Middlezoy were 184-run victors over Ilton thanks to 96 from Nathan Barnard and 83 from G. Musgrave.

The pair batted superbly as Zoy amassed 302- 8 before bowling Ilton out for just 108.

North Newton beat Watchet by 52 runs in Division 2 courtesy of J. Sellick (31), J. Cook (30no) and C. Street (28) as they posted 168-6 before Watchet slumped to 113 all out.

Kilve fell 64 runs short at Wells despite 60 from C. Taylor and 44 from C. James.

M. Girling had earlier taken 4-31 as Wells posted 279-6, but Kilve could only muster 215.
