Ashcott & Shapwick II 211-9 beat Thornbury II 208 by three runs
ASHCOTT & Shapwick II held their nerve to secure a dramatic three run victory over Thornbury II on Saturday.
Bitop Mahanta led the way for Ashcott with the bat, scoring 52 as they posted 211-9 from their 45 overs, having elected to bat first.
Lee Edmunds (48) and Steve Spencer (22) also made valuable contributions for the hosts, while Harry Wormwell (4-43) was the pick of the Thornbury bowlers.
In reply, Ethan Trebble-Westlake (2-33) made early inroads for Ashcott and was well supported by Sam Spencer (1-20) and Steve Spencer (3-23).
James Tunnicliffe (52) top scored for Thornbury, but they were unable to muster the final three runs required, with Josh Luckins (2-33) impressing at the death.
