CONSTANT rain and poor conditions were no hindrance to Pete Jeffery in the Seniors June Medal at Vivary Golf Club.

Playing off a handicap of nine he stormed home with a net score of 63, six ahead of second-placed Keith Wood on 69, and clear of the small valiant band that finished the round. Dave Thomas was third with 70.

Jeffery showed his consistently good form again in the Hamish McTarmac Stableford coming second with 37 points to Phil Hussey who went a point better to claim the honours. Charles Hall took third with 36 points.

The popular Barret and Canniford Cup was won by John Blissitt on 37 points.

Dave Thomas was second with 35 and Charles Hall and Pete Jeffery both came in with 34 points but Hall had the better back nine.

Chris Stone, Dave Beale, Phil Hussey and Pete Jeffery all came back to the club house leading with plus two in the Pat Carey Bogey competition but count-back gave the honours to Stone and put the others in the same order for places.

Chris Stone, currently playing good steady golf, had a week earlier won the Reg Fortnum Stableford with 39 points, one in front of second placed John Blissitt. Dave Hinton came third with 36.
