THE Club Skittles League’s presentation night, held at the Lawns Social Club in Mary Street, proved particularly special for Shuttern A.

For the team, who have been disbanded following the closure of the Police Club, at last enjoyed some glory after winning their first piece of silverware – the Cecil Maddocks Cup – in their last-ever game. Runners-up in the competition were Kingston Blues.

Shuttern Sports won Section A coming out on top for the second successive season.

Three points behind were the Welly Boys while a late run of wins saw Norton Nomads move into third.

Franies Muppets needed to win a play-off against Taverners to land the Section B title. Third-placed Norton Casualties made up the trio for promotion to section A.

After a topsy turvy league season Wyvern Wanderers managed a one-pin win at Kingston in the Knockout Cup final.

Runners-up were Shuttern Sports who will use Kingston as their home alley from now on.

The season’s highest scorer was Neil McWilliams of Wyvern Wanderers who hit 87 in a home game against the Lights.

Knights 1 won the President’s Shield in a final which also featured Knights 2 and Welly Boys 1 & 2.
