RUGBY: Abbie Brown plays for England sevens
FORMER Cullompton player Abbie Brown helped England women’s sevens team win the first round of the FIRA/AER European Grand Prix in Moscow on Sunday.
Brown, who lives in Hele, scored her first international try in England’s 29-0 victory over Ireland in the quarter-finals.
A subsequent 21-5 victory over the Netherlands put England through to the final when they beat Russia 24-20.
England now head to Brive this weekend for the second and final round of the tournament.
