THE wet weather played a big part in the weekend’s Somerset Cricket League fixtures with many games reduced or postponed altogether.
In Division One, Bridgwater A were 24-run victors over Kilmington & Stourton thanks to a fine bowling display from Dan Rossiter.
Rossiter took 5-33 to help bowl Kilmington out for 145 in pursuit of Bridgwater’s 169-6 after D. Hallaran (55no) and A. Hewson (41) had helped the hosts to a competitive total.
In Division Two, North Newton slipped to a heavy six-wicket defeat at Huish & Langport, after being bowled out for just 87 batting first.
In reply, Huish cruised to their target despite 3-16 from C. Street.
In Division Five, Mark failed to reach triple figures for the third consecutive game as they were dismissed for just 96 by Cheddar II.
D. Worthington top scored with 18 for Mark, before Cheddar eased to victory with seven wickets to spare.
