HIGHBRIDGE Town will play in the Somerset County League next season after their application for promotion was accepted at the league AGM on Monday night.
Town were crowned champions of the Taunton & District League in May and had to meet certain league requirements before promotion could be approved.
But the club have now met all of those requirements and their promotion into Division two West of the Somerset County League has now been confirmed.
Club chairman Matt Pitt said: “I am delighted that Highbridge Town Football Club has been accepted up to the County League for next season and we will be competing in the Division Two West league.
“It has just made the last four years all worthwhile with the countless hours of hard work put in by the committee, players and supports of the club.
“A special mention to our first team sponsor Gareth Taylor of Taylor's Building And Landscaping Services as without his help we would not have achieved the cut off date for inspection with the time given to us.
“I am very confident if we keep the squad together and add a few additional players we can most certainly challenge for the title next year.”
