Leading the way with a brace of new county benchmarks was Callum Wells who set a new time of 11.38s in the 100m for 13-14-year-olds – a record which had stood since 1985.
Callum then shaved a hundredth of a second off the previous record at 200m.
Sixteen-year-old Archie Walton broke the record for the 1,500 metre steeplechase by nearly 14 seconds while 14-year old Sam Edwards set a new mark of 2m 3.88s for the 800m in a race he dominated from gun to tape.
Dominic Taylor broke the county record for the 15-16-year-olds 800m when he won his race in 1m 56.31s while Ben Hawkins set a record of 1m 54.23s for the 17-19-year-olds 800m.
Club chairman Mike Rogers said: “It was fantastic to see so much early season success for our young athletes.
“It’s just reward for all the hours of work they have done in the cold and rain throughout the winter.”
