CHARD showjumper Chloe Reynolds is looking forward to riding in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show.

Chloe (15) rode nine-year-old mare Kayleigh’s Star to win the one of the second round qualifiers at the Pony Premier Show at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre in Bulkington, Warwickshire.

From the 97 starters, 14 combinations went on to produce two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off and four combinations then went on to produce the all-important treble clear.

Chloe and Kayleighs Star produced a superb third round to take victory in 39.58 seconds – a time that saw their combination win by well over five seconds.

Second place was taken by 15-year-old Alice Donnelly from Grantham in Lincolnshire.

Chloe will now be focussing on preparation for the Horse of the Year Show being held at the Birmingham NEC from October 8-12.

Jump-off result: 1 Chloe Reynolds & Kayleighs Star 39.58s, 2 Alice Donnelly & Roan Boy 45.12s, 3 Lucy Carver & Carnalecka Quickstep 46.94s, 4 Katie Waldock-Smith & Ross Cottage 51.72s.
