SEVENTY young gymnasts have taken part in Monarchs Gymnastics Club’s annual tumbling competition.
Many of the youngsters were taking part for the first time, with competitors ranging from three years to 18 years.
Winners and runners-up were: Novice, age three-five – Jack Hunt, Matilda Huggins and Kiera Snowball Novice, age six-eight – Skye Clayton, Freya Jones and Poppy Cooper Novice, age nine-plus – Aaliyah Brown, Holly Parsons and Gracia Donaghy Advanced, six-eight – Kian Hawkes, Luca Hopkinson and Jessica Hunt Advanced, nine-11 – Lucy Smith and Jennifer Marshall (joint first), Jinny Ager and Evie Tissington Advanced, 12-plus – Joe Blake, Heather Reed and Natasha Stockham and Jacob Baker (joint third).
The event raised almost £700, which will be put towards replacing two landing mats at the Highbridgebased club.
