Windwhistle’s third match was a return at Burnham & Berrow when the home team thrived in extremely windy conditions to win 5-0.
The pairing of Mark Drayton and Mark Crabb were unlucky to lose to their opponents on the last hole.
Windwhistle B collected nine league points as they beat Long Sutton 3½-1½ to collect nine points.

n On a rain-affected Wednesday, 20 Seniors attended their annual St George’s Day Bash.
Ten pairs teed off in atrocious weather including a strong wind.
The pairing of Maurice Arnold and John Pearce handled the conditions better than anybody and returned a score of 35 points over the restricted course of 14 holes.
This proved to be five better than their closest rivals.
Result: 1 Maurice Arnold & John Pearce 35pts, 2 Bob Barrow & Colin Ireland 30pts, 3 Alan Dowley & Clive Fisk 29pts.
After the golf the Seniors enjoyed a meal while John McOmish delivered a speech in recognition of the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth.
On Friday, the Seniors’ match team entertained a team from Rushmore.
The weather was much-improved with the rain holding off until the finish.
In a very competitive match, with three games being decided on the 18th green, the visitors won 4-2.

Conditions in the early part of the morning were apparently more favourable as they produced the first three winning teams.
Way out in front, with a superb 83 points, was the trio led by Ed Paolini who won by four.
Result: 1 Ed Paolini, Dickie Hall & Mike Mosser 83pts, 2 Brian Marsh, Bernie Skeels & Jerry Stephens 79pts, 3 Sid Crisp, Ray Gudge & Colin Williams 71pts.
