Calor League South & West

Bridgwater Town 4, Stratford Town 3

BRIDGWATER Town signed off the season in impressive fashion, coming out on the right end of a seven goal thriller at Fairfax Park.

Goals from man of the match, Jake Mawford, Tom Knighton, Karim Rendell and an own goal fired the Robins to victory, as they secured a 14th place finish in Calor League South & West.

Bridgwater went ahead after just three minutes as Mawford curled home a superb effort from the edge of the penalty area.

But Stratford surged back into the game and drew level on 16 minutes thanks to a neat finish from Chris Sterling.

Sterling struck again four minutes later to turn the tables and put the visitors ahead for the first time in the game.

Not to be denied, Tom Knighton levelled things up for Rich Fey's side on the half hour mark, as he capitalised on a lame punch from Stratford 'keeper Sam Brady.

And Bridgwater were soon back in the lead courtesy of a goal straight from a corner kick, from Kyle Tooze, with Brady again at fault.

The second half was a far quieter affair and it wasn't until four minutes from time that Bridgwater made the points safe.

Karim Rendell supplied the cool finish following good work from Tooze, to put the game out of sight.

There was still time for Stratford to score a third, with Tyrone Fagan popping up in injury time - but it was too little too late for the visitors, as Bridgwater rounded off the season in style.
