BRIDGWATER continued their winning start to the season with a 72-run triumph over Minehead on Saturday.

Batting first, Bridgwater posted 239-7 from their 40 overs, thanks to 88 from Chris Gange and 50 from Stuart Butt.

In reply, Minehead could only manage 167-7, with Gary Bennett scoring 67 not out.

Ian Higgins (2-23), Cameron Williams (2-33), Robbie Montgomery 2-37 did the damage for Bridgy. Next Saturday, Bridgwater host Welsh Premier side Port Talbot at 1pm, while the second X1 travel to Uphill Castle.

The 'A' X1, who will be making their debut in the SCL first Division the following week, play a Wembdon X1 at Wyndham Park.

On Sunday April 27, Bridgwater travel to Ashcott and Shapwick in the first round of the ECB national KO Cup at 1pm.

## ASHCOTT & Shapwick's season preparations suffered a setback as they went down by three wickets to Premier Two new boys Clevedon.

Batting first, Ashcott made an impressive 234 from their 40 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Steve Tinnion (87) and Charlie Vickery (74).

But Clevedon reached their target with eight balls to spare, with Masoor Khan leading the way with 86.
