TWO days after arguably their worst result of the season, Taunton Town reacted with one of their best as they beat second-placed Cirencester Town 1-0 in the Calor League at the Viridor Stadium last night.

Owen Irish was the Peacocks' matchwinner with a stoppage time goal as Town deservedly came out on top against a side with the best away record in the division.

Manager Leigh Robinson said: "Once again, a really great reaction after a disaster on Tuesday.

"The players were clearly hurting after Tuesday and all credit to them for coming out and performing like that against one of the league's better sides.

"We very rarely fail to react to bad results but it would be nice if we had to do it less often by adding some consistency but we know that on our day we'll beat anyone in this league."

Taunton are back in action tomorrow when they visit Stratford Town (3pm).
