BRIDGWATER Sports had a comfortable afternoon as they beat Bishops Lydeard 5-1 in Division One of the Taunton & District League.

Piers Govier scored four,while Jason Hitchcock got the fifth - Kirk Poulson betted for Lydeard.

Highbridge Town were 3-1 winners at Porlock to strengthen their position at the top of the table - Carl Hampson bagged a brace and there was one for Will Bailey, Tom McCarthy got the home sides goal.

Middlezoy Rovers have moved up to fourth after a 4-1 away win at Sampford Blues, thanks to a hat-trick from John Doyle.

North Petherton beat Hamilton Hawks 2-0 thanks to goals from Criag Lazenby and Lewis Irish - and Staplegrove drew 1-1 with Alcombe Rovers.

In Division Two, Appletree Tone Youth still have a ten point lead at the top of the table after a 3-0 away win at Hamilton Athletic, thanks to a brace from Matt Blee and one from Chris Grave.

However Wembdon keep plugging on and they too had a 3-0 victory, theirs at home against Watchet.

Division Three leaders Morganians dropped two points at home to a spirited Redgate, who led for the majority of the game from a Sam Granville goal - before a late equaliser from Liam Birch salvaged a point for the home side. That gave second placed The Gallery the chance to close the gap, which did with relative ease against Alcombe Rovers Reserves winning 6-1.

Milverton Rangers won 2-1 away win at Bridgwater Sports Reserves, Jamie Wood getting both goals, Rich Meek got the Sports goal.

Wyvern Rangers Guns beat Sydenham Rangers by the same score - Brad Phillips and Tyler Smith scoring for them and Jason Stephenson replying for Rangers.

Galmington Dragons beat bottom side Highbridge Town Reserves 4-0 sharing the scoring around between Oliver and Chris Tucker, Ray Kitchen and Howard Bradford.

In Division Four, Exmoor Rangers were beaten 4-0 at home to Norton Fitzwarren.

Rhode Lane Wanderers took the lead against North Petherton Reserves but an equaliser from John Matthews and then a 25 yard thunderbolt from James Baker completed the come back and give Pethy all three points.

Williton lost 3-1 to Porlock and Woolavington drew 1-1 with Dulverton Town Reserves, for whom Martin Edworthy scored, Connor O'Neil did the same for the home side.

In Division Five, second placed Staplegrove Colts keep the pressure on with a fairly easy afternoon and an 8-1 victory over Norton Fitzwarren Reserves.

Wivelsicombe won 6-4 at home to Hamilton Athletic Foxes and mid-table Middlezoy Athletic had a 4-2 home win over East Bower, Danny Russell scored two for Zoy, Danny McHoney and Reuben Lee added one each, Josh Smith and Ash Warren replied for Bower.

Creech Cougars can thank Chris Sealey for their 2-0 win as it was he who scored both their goals against Morganians Reserves.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers had a 4-2 home win against local rivals Bridgwater Wolves.
