TWO Chard Road Runners took part in the fourth race of the Somerset Series at Butleigh over 7½ miles of hills, fields and footpaths.
Wayne Loveridge led the contingent home in sixth place in a time of 45m 59s while Martin Holly excelled in a time of 52m 50 in 26th place.
Richard Cave ran in the Falmouth half Marathon where he finished seventh in his age category.
Cave produced an excellent time of 1hr 36m 36s as part of his preparation for the London Marathon.
Other club members were also out with the equally important training runs.
Mel Boarder led an excellent team of beginner and intermediate runners on a sun-blessed ten mile run with Lindsey Quinlan, Becky Stone, Tracie Pulman, Vicky Musselwhite, Dave Carter, Emma Brinklow for company.
