TAUNTON host their second meeting of the month on Monday when the first of the seven races on the card gets underway at 2.20pm.

Landlords Day last week saw an increase of 25% on the corresponding meeting in 2013 and next week’s fixture is expected to attract another good sized crowd.

The afternoon kicks off with The Rural Living Show April 12 Claiming Hurdle Race at 2.20pm over 2m 1f.

The feature race at the meeting is the Class 3 Bathwick Tyres Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase over half a furlong short of 3m miles at 3.50pm which carries a prize pot of £7,000.

The action concludes with The Ladies Day April 3 Handicap Hurdle Race, the longest of the day, run over 3m ½f.

Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach service leaves Taunton Railway Station an hour before the first race, picking up at the bus station near the town centre shortly after and departing from the course 30 minutes after the last race.

Up to 20% discount is available to those who book their tickets in advance on-line up to 10am on the day prior to racing by logging on to www.tauntonracecourse.co.uk
