ALEX Held staged a superb finish with an eagle and a birdie in his last four holes to win the John Tallack Trophy at Padbrook Park.

Held birdied the par five 15th before holing his second shot to eagle the par four 17th.

Those shots gained were to prove crucial as he scored 38 stableford points. He edged out Neil Woodman and Barry Colbourne by just a point.

Mark Want lead the Order of Merit thanks to five top ten finishes in six events. Want's consistent form included victory in the March Stableford.

He now has 40 points giving him a seven point advantage over second placed Alex Held. He keeps his father Steve in third place.

The event is still in its early stages with around 20 events still to be played before a winner is decided in October.
