CHARD Town manager Adam Fricker is hoping a week’s rest will have revitalised his weary squad ahead of their Toolstation first division game at home to Chippenham Park tomorrow (3pm).

The Robins’ three match winning run came to an end at Corsham last Saturday when they lost 2-0 to the well-organised Wiltshire side.

But Fricker was far from disappointed with his side after tackling their fifth match in 14 days.

Fricker said: “It wasn’t really a setback because we have played a lot of games on heavy pitches in a short space of time following a long lay-off and it showed. The lads were absolutely shattered at the end of it.

“Corsham are always a tough side and they had had the benefit of a week off.”

Chard were also hampered by the absence of Mark Scott, Sam Spurway and Oscar Latas.

Scott is due to return at Zembard Lane but striker Sam Clark is suspended for one match following a recent sending-off.

The Robins’ league programme continues next Tuesday (March 18) when they entertain Westbury United (7.30pm).
