Burnham II 31, Somerton 13
BURNHAM II scored five tries as they recorded a bonus-point victory over Somerset on Saturday.
Elliot Donnelly, Hayden Tuttiett, James Alred, Alex Watkins and Mason Shaw all crossed for the hosts in a convincing win.
An early Burnham onslaught paid off when Elliot Donnelly was fed to finish a well-worked move – and Tuttiett then exploited a gap min the defence to score under the posts – Conway added the extras.
The visitors were determined not to let Burnham have all their own way and scored a try of their own on the half hour – this was followed up by a penalty to bring the scores closer.
Somerton had clawed themselves back into the game and were keen to capitalise on this - but the home side had other ideas and from a maul the ball was fed to Will Conway who unleashed Mason Shaw to score out wide. Somerton added another penalty, before James Alred put the game to bed when he chased down a kick to score under the posts.
Watkins had the final say with Burnham’s fifth try of the afternoon to cap a fine performance from the home side.
