TAUNTON provide an ideal start to Cheltenham Festival week when they host their ever-popular Landlords Day tomorrow.

The first of the seven races on the card due off at 2.20pm.

The action gets underway with The Barley Mow at Rockwell Green Handicap Hurdle Race over 3m ½f which is named after the pub bringing the largest number of its regulars along to the meeting.

The most valuable and longest race on the card is The Bathwick Tyres Handicap Steeple Chase at 3.50pm.

This is a Class 3 event over 3m 5f with an impressive prize fund of £10,000.

The Taunton Civil Service Sports Association Handicap Steeple Chase over twomiles and half a furlong follows an hour later.

The Taunton Civil Service Association are members of the Taunton RacecourseBusiness Club and won the this sponsorship in a draw.

The afternoon rounds off with a Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt f lat race over 2m 1f at 5.20pm.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station one hour before the off, picking up at the bus station in the town centre soon after. It returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last race.
