BURNHAM Swimming Club hosted the second round of the Cotswold League Series at Brean Splash last Saturday.

It was a successful event for Burnham as well, as they finished in second place, nine points behind Backwell.

There were 18 individual best times and 12 relay best times from Burnham swimmers – and The Open swimmers had four personal best times.

Hannah Gosling, Amy Bray, Holly Baines and Megan Manley had best times on their relays, while Megan also recorded a 100m freestyle PB.

The boys had three individual best times, from Lewis Plume (100m Butterfly), Greg Kyd (100m Breaststroke) and Chris Wood (100m Backcrawl) and, with the help of Alex Plume, best time in their relay.

The 15 and under boys had four individual best times from Morgan Rose, Nathan Clarke 50m and Lewis Crosby – as well as best time in their freestyle relay, with the help of Shaun Wood.

The 15 and under girls had two individual best times, from Hannah Bray and Issy Baines 50m – and Josie Dollery and Alicia Pollard helped them to best times in both their relays.

Other impressive performances came from Rowan Crosby, Naomi Pollard, Ellisha Parker, Ella Dollery, Sam Manley, Ollie Talbot, Kieran Fet, Liam Reddish, Harriet Puddy and Josie Hooper.
