IF ONLY scored a massive total of 552 at the Lighthouse Inn as they annihilated the White Rebels by 80 pins in Division 4 of the Highbridge & District Skittles League.

Their score of 552 is the highest home score of the season and puts them in line for an unlikely trophy at the end of the season.

Martin Cahill 80, Antony Prattent 77 and John Brown 73 did most of the damage.

Meanwhile, also in Division 4, Lymp Dicks had a narrow three-pin victory over the Rafascals at the Pawlett Pavillion, thanks to Grahame Hale’s 75.

In Division 3, Nobby’s One still lead by two points after they cruised to a 39-pin victory over the Railway Burtle at the Watchfield Inn.

Chris Phillips scored 78 and Spud Puddy chipped in with 73 at the Brent Knoll Inn for the Brent Knoll Inn who defetaed the Juniors by 51.

At the foot of the table, Berrow Hotel move of the bottom after they were 21 pins to good for the Rovers at the Bristol Bridge Inn, Steve Peace clearing the diamond on every hand in his total of 78.

Social Club have opened up a four-point lead in Division 2 after their win over stablemates Mauricemen at the Berrow Club.

Odds & Ends lost ground as they were defeated by a single pin at the Highbridge Social Club by Hedgejumpers. Needing 69 for victory, Andrew Walter produced the goods with a 15-spare on the last hand which took his total to a topof- the-board 72.

Richard May scored 83 at the Ritz Social Club for the Rogues and was instrumental in their 10-pin victory over the Misfits, despite Dave Barber’s 77.

In Division 1, the Bombers have gone six points clear after they won a tight match at the Railway Inn winning by four pins against Little Acorns.

In a cracking match – 516-520 – Bombers needed a tricky 66 for victory, but a 16-spare from Ernie King set up the victory; King top scored with 77 for the Bombers, Andy Sherwood scored 75 for the Acorns.

Steamers lost ground on the leaders but remain in second spot after they went down by 23 to stablemates Shunters at the Victoria Hotel. Martin Rogers had a third hand 20 double flopper in his total of 78.

At the Pawlett Legion, Tryer’s total of 526 defeated the Robins by seven, Lewis Hembury, Phil Hembury, Jake Gooding and Simon Coombs all scoring 70- plus, as did Gay Cox, Adam Cox and Paul Dunn for the Robins.

A sixth hand of 93 by Poachers at Lympsham Pavillion, which pulled 36, sealed a comfortable 41-pin victory over Cowboys. Jim Vearncombe top scored with 79, and three of his teammates, Marsden, Mantlelow and Griffiths all scored 70-plus.
