EXETER Chiefs earned a place in the semi-finals of the LV= Cup with a 42-3 thumping of Worcester at Sixways yesterday.

Tries came from Hayden Thomas (2), Tom James, Gareth Steenson and Ceri Sweeney.

Steenson also added four conversions and three penalties for a personal points haul of 22.

Chiefs now face Bath at the Rec on the weekend of March 7-9.

If they win that clash Chiefs will play either Northampton or Saracens on home turf at Sandy Park on March 16.
