THE lead in the Burnham, Highbridge & District Ladies’ Skittles League Premier Division changed hands this week as Eight Belles shot to the top after beating Pin Ups at Pawlett Pavilion.

Nitwits are second but went down on their home alley to the George Hotel by a good margin to Hotshots.

Maybee’s have gone third with a 17-pin victory over bottom team Berrow Breezers, and Blinders dropped to fourth place as they lost on their home alley to Watchfield Belles.

Cannonballs found the Ritz Club alley to their liking and, after five weeks out in the cold, came back with a three-pin victory over home team Crown Jewels.

Wotsits took over the lead in Division 1, beating Country Girls by 13, and Bristols were well and truly beaten by Wayward Wanderers who had three players in the 60s at Basonbridge Inn.

Nightmares overcame Old Railway at the Crosswways, a result which leaves three teams tied on sixteen points – Bristols, Country Girls and Nightmares.

Young Ones lost at the Railway Inn to Triards, who had Alison Bird on a fine 75.

Coopers Boozers had a bye and remain bottom of the division.

In Division 2, no change for Victoria Vixens who beat visitors Burnham Utd by over 30 and keeps them four points clear of their nearest rival, Applecatchers, who took the points from Pink Ladies.

A tight game at the Red Cow saw Bombers run out winners by ten, Gerry Foster on 64.

A close game at the 37 Club saw home team Coasters draw with Berrow Club B and Wanderers are starting to make progress up the table with a win over Pawlett Legion.
