England College Football Association National Cup Round 3
Exeter College 4, Bridgwater College Elite Men’s Football 3
BRIDGWATER College Elite Men’s Football crashed out of ECFA cup at the third round stage following defeat to Exeter College.
Bridgwater took a deserved lead 15 minutes into the game through Lee Villis but Exeter responded immediately and levelled the scores through a neat passing moving.
After only a minute of the second half, Bridgwater fell behind after some lacklustre defending allowed Exeter to score from a cross that was cut back from the by-line. Villis doubled his tally and levelled the scores almost immediately after another neat close range finish.
Sixty-five minutes in, Exeter took the lead once again after an incisive pass from the centre of midfield but Sam Anthony drew Bridgwater level with a fine volley.
Exeter grabbed the winner with ten minutes left on the clock from an incisive breakaway – but Bridgwater thought they had forced an equaliser in the dying minutes, but Dan Barber’s goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.
