SIX of the top rugby players at King’s College in Taunton have been selected for prestigious representative squads. Will Potter and Alex Dunham have made it through to the National Independent Schools’ Under-18 squad, and will represent the best in the country in a series of fixtures, before hoping to secure places on the team’s tour to Zimbabwe later in the year. After a gruelling series of county games, Jack West and Aaron Chapman have been selected for the South-West Under-16 squad that will play in a divisional series over the next few months. The games serve as a selection process for the England Under-16 squad. After an equally tough season, 14-year-old Tom Pittman has been included in the London Irish Elite Player Development Group and will be working with coaches from the Academy throughout the year. And just before Christmas it was confirmed that Cameron Souter-Frost had been included in the Somerset Under-15 squad. Nick Gresswell, co-director of sport at King’s, said: “The school is exceptionally proud of the achievements of these young players.

“Their achievements are a great example of what dedication, hard work and enthusiasm can bring.

“They are all very talented lads in their own right, but it is important also to recognise the commitment of their parents, whose support and encouragement has underpinned the foundation for their success.”
