TAUNTON Soul played Bristol University in a ‘Super Saturday’ event at the Bristol Academy.
The first half was fairly tight but in the second half Soul pulled away to a comfortable and convincing 18-9 victory. Top goalscorers were David Hill (6), Hilary Manning (3) and Ellie Kowalski (3). Hill and Kowalski were named as the most valuable players.
Soul’s second team were also convincing, beating Bristol University 2nds 9-3. MVPs were Mark Pow and Maria Lamb.
This was a very good performance all round considering six of Soul’s team had just landed at Bristol Airport that morning after a weeks ski-ing holiday in France and went straight from the airport to the match.
This leaves Soul 1sts in third place in the first division and Soul 2nds fourth place in the second division of the South-West Korfball League.
