Tiverton Town's progress up the Calor Southern league was halted in its tracks by a very impressive Shortwood United who won 2-0 at Ladysmead on Saturday.
Tivvy failed to test keeper Tom King over the 90 minutes while home keeper Mike Searle produced a number of good saves.
Both sides went into the match on a run of five successive wins.
Tivvy's best effort came in the 82nd minute when John Heveran's flick was volleyed wide at the back post by Matt Wright.
