BRIDGWATER Town manager Richard Fey is confident that the Fairfax Park pitch will recover in time for Taunton Town’s visit on Tuesday January 21.

Saturday’s home game against Godalming was postponed on Saturday following heavy overnight rain on Friday night, but Fey says the club will be doing everything they can to ensure the derby game goes ahead.

He said: “We were disappointed it (Saturday’s game) was off, but the overnight rain didn't help. We were working on the pitch all week and the difference last season was the water didn't drain well in front of the dugouts, but yesterday it was the goalmouth by changing rooms - but we weren't the only game off and we will be working hard to make sure our next home game versus Taunton is on and the pitch playable.”

## THE Robins have announced the signing of left-back Ollie Barnes from Clevedon Town.

Barnes returns to Fairfax Park having previously played for the club in 2011.
