TIVERTON Town’s defence will need to be at its very best tomorrow (Saturday) when free-scoring Paulton Rovers are the visitors to Ladysmead at 3pm, writes John Fournier.

Paulton, who beat Tiverton 4-0 earlier in the season, have scored an impressive 67 goals in just 20 games and lie third in the Calor Southern league table.

John Clarkson’s side won’t be lacking in confidence themselves after a week which has seen them record two victories.

They won 3-0 at bottom club Fleet Town last Saturday to move to within one place of the play-off positions.

First-half strikes from Max Kowal and top scorer Matt Wright, and a third from substitute Michael Nardiello, hardly did justice to Tivvy’s dominant display.

On Tuesday they moved into the semi-finals of the Edenvale Turf Devon St Luke Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win at Barnstaple Town.

Another Nardiello goal coupled with a 25-yard strike from James Richards saw Tivvy through.
