CALLAN Bryant of Tiverton ABC recorded a clear unanimous decision on Oakmead’s open show in Bournemouth.

Bryant put in a superb performance over three rounds of one and half minutes against the host club’s Dave Lewis.

Coach Paul Harvey said: “Callan put in a great performance boxing showing maturity beyond his years.

“The way he stays composed under pressure is fantastic.

“He’s got a great left hand and he’s so hard to hit with his great defensive skills.”

On the same show Tiverton clubmate Harry Davey tasted defeat for the first time.

Boxing against Runnymede’s Henry Gregory over three, two minute rounds, Davey never really got a foothold in the bout.

Gregory was an awkward opponent throwing clusters of punches for the entire three rounds as Davey struggled to find his range.

Harvey said: “The only difference was that Gregory out-hustled Harry for the three rounds and I’m sure he will bounce back from this.”
