TIVERTON remain on course to achieve manager John Clarkson’s target of claiming seven points in a week.

Clarkson set the challenge before last Saturday’s Calor Southern league game against high-flying North Leigh which finished in a 0-0 draw.

After a 4-1 win against Didcot Town on Tuesday evening he has four points from the first two games prior to the Yellows’ visit to bottom-of-the- table Fleet Town tomorrow (Saturday).

Tuesday evening saw Shane Krac give Tivvy the lead with his first goal for the club, before John Heveran added a second.

Tivvy then conceded a disputed penalty before an own goal restored the two goal cushion before the break.

Despite laying siege to the Didcot goal for virtually the entire second half they could only manage one more goal – full back James Richards getting on the scoresheet with an excellent strike.

For tomorrow’s game Marcus Martin is suspended, Matt Villis injured and Tom Gardner unavailable. Chris Long faces a late fitness test.

Last Saturday Tivvy should have beaten high flying North Leigh despite three absentees.

Michael Nardiello went close for the hosts in the first minute, keeper Paul White saving low down.

Max Kowal then blasted wide before North Leigh produced the miss of the match, Zak Westlake heading wide from a free-kick when unmarked.

The game ebbed and flowed until the 55th minute when Leigh’s James Organ received a second yellow for scything down Dan Smith.

A minute later Tivvy’s Ed Palmer also received his marching orders, again for a second yellow.

With 12 minutes to go Tivvy sub and top scorer Matt Wright appeared to be brought down in the box but was booked for a dive.

Wright set up Smith who shot narrowly wide then Smith’s cross was just missed by Wright at the back post.

Tivvy’s highly impressive keeper Mike Searle produced a fine last-minute save to deny Jacob Walcott.
