IN Division One, second placed Bridgwater Sports closed the gap on leaders Locomotives with a 4-2 away win at local rivals North Petherton.

Both Paul Organ and Matt Fursland scored twice each - Adam Wright and Josh Gracie replied for Pethy.

Sydenham Rangers closed the gap on third placed Wyvern but only by a point as they only managed a 3-3 draw at home to Galmington Dragons.

Rangers took the early lead through Luke Taylor - a lead which lasted to the break.

But in the second period Galmington took control and scored three times to take a 3-1 lead - Chris and Oliver Tucker scoring as did Tim Bottomley.

Jason Stephenson got one back for Rangers who then shot themselves in the foot by having a player sent off.

But the ten men rallied and Les Pope got the equaliser to get a point.

Redgate followed last week's first win with another this week beating Highbridge Town Reserves 5-1.

Jack Hamblin led the line with a hat trick, Phil Court and Charlie Arden adding the others.

The visitors were sharper and more determined and it showed.

A lucky cross from the left found the back of the net for the first and the second squeezed through the keeper's legs and trickled agonisingly over the line. James Cornish scored the other Grasshoppers goal.

Middlezoy Athletic beat local rivals Bridgwater Wolves by the odd goal in the seven scored.

Dan Russell hit two of them, Carl Tucker and Chad Chappell the other two - Gareth Mountstephens, Adam Gamblin and Jack Gardener all hit the target for Wolves.
