Mistakes cost Emeralds dear against Hendford

AFTER a slow start Hendford took an early lead and Emeralds were able to pull back some goals with steady play in the first quarter, but Hendford kept their lead at 11-7.
Shooter Gemma Thorne injured herself and Steph Reardon stepped in for Emeralds.
Several mistakes and passing difficulties allowed Hendford to take full advantage and they pulled away by half time at 24-12.
Reardon played well with Adele Ranford, and with more accurate passing Emeralds rallied.
Rhianne Lee and Kerry Clarke made some timely interceptions, but Hendford’s shooters never missed, increasing their lead to 37-19.
Emeralds kept fighting with better passing into the circle by Amy Edmundson and Michelle Martin, but were never able to catch Hendford.

Gems 40 Babylon 37
BABYLON started attacking hard with Gems slow off the mark.
In the second quarter, good shooting from both sides made it 17-17.
Gems had a good third quarter with everyone working well and coming forward, and more great shooting gave them a lead of 30-25.
The last quarter was close with play up and down the court, and with minutes Gems pulled away to win by three.
