Lick Racing finish second in championship
9:00am Friday 11th October 2013 in Sport
HIGHBRIDGE team Lick Racing entered the final round of the BMCRC Championship at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit at the weekend.
The weather was overcast, but dry for qualifying, which saw the team of Dean Nicholls and Paul Skinner, from Highbridge Motortech and Berrow, qualify their Certain Exhibitions sponsored outfit on row two of the grid for the ten-lap race.
From a great start the team led into the first corner in race one, and after a race-long battle with F1 sidecars they ended up third overall and first in the F2 class.
The second race later that afternoon saw them battle to the chequered flag, and the championship-leading outfit started from the back due to problems they had after the first race.
Sunday’s racing began under hot sunshine and high track temperatures for the time of year, and after a race-long battle with the championship leader the team finished second.
The final race of the day saw the team leading the race again from the front, only to be passed by three F1 outfits.
They again were the first F2 outfit to see the chequered flag, making it three wins out of four and finishing the season second in the championship.
The 2014 season will be a big season for the team as it takes on the infamous Isle of Man TT.
Lick Racing thanks all those who supported them this season and welcome sponsorship for next season
