FRIDAY night’s Rowbarton Cup game at Castle was a bit of a one-sided affair with North Petherton beating Alcombe Rovers Reserves 7-1.
Lewis Irish was the leading marksman for Pethy with four goals, while Rob White added two and Aaron Walford the other.
Division One side Porlock knocked out Division Two side Nether Stowey with a 5-0 win, Adam Langdon scoring twice, and Tom MacCarthy, Richard Binding and Harry Scratchard all adding one each.
Westonzoyland took a higher division scalp, beating Bishops Lydeard 4-2 with goals from Anton Bolton, Callum Butt, Jack Evett and Sam Edmunds. Adam Watson got both Lydeard goals.
Bridgwater Sports lost 1-0 to Minehead, while Blagdon beat Stentaford 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Locomotives proved far too strong for Middlezoy Rovers Reserves, winning 6-0 with two goals from James Conway, and one each from Tom Edwards, Ryan Vickery, Chi Pearce and James Weaver.
Wyvern Rangers beat fellow Division Two side Hamilton Athletic 7-3. Martin White scored twice for Rangers, and Dan Pepperell, Scott Drayton, Joe Enticott, Tom Melhuish and Ryan Bradford all added a goal apiece.
In the Seward Cup, North Petherton Reserves beat Galmington Dragons 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
A 6-3 win for Highbridge over Hamilton Hawks in Division One enabled them to close the gap on League leaders Bridgwater Sports, who were on cup duty.
Undefeated Dulverton Town top Division Two after a 3-2 victory over Stogursey, for whom Ryan Chidgey and Andy Bath scored. Tom Blundell hit two for Town and Ross Cornish added the third.
Sydenham Rangers beat Bridgwater Sports Reserves 5-1 thanks to an Adam Knight hat-trick, and one each from Jake Adey and George Wilkinson. Adam Clapp got Sports’ consolation goal.
Gallery had an even bigger win, beating Highbridge Reserves 11-0 on their own patch. Mark Pope was the leading marksman with five goals.
Wyvern Guns had a 4-0 home win over Redgate with goals from Adam Brown, Pete Watts, Tyler Smith and James Melhuish.organians maintain their 100% record and are in third after a high scoring 6-4 victory over Milverton Rangers.
Andrew James netted twice for Morganians with Gary Ziabeck, Sam Weston, Ben Chorley and Reece Standerwick all grabbing one each.
In Division Four, Norton Fitzwarren recorded a 9-1 home win over Porlock Reserves, while honours were even between Rhode Lane Wanderers and Dulverton Reserves in a 1-1 draw.
Sampford Blues Reserves matched their first team’s record with three wins from three after beating Williton 4-1. Tom Jordan scored two, and Craig Aspin and Dave Poulsom one each. Arron Blande scored for Williton.
Tone Youth recorded their first win of the season with a 5-0 victory over Nether Stowey Reserves.
Division Five new boys Ash Rangers go marching on with four wins from four, the latest a 4-0 home win over Hamilton Athletic Foxes, while Bridgwater Wolves took the lead against Galmington Reserves, but it wasn’t to last with Dragons going on to win 4-1.
Morganians Reserves and East Bower drew 1-1, and Staplegrove Colts’ recent form was maintained with a 3- 2 win over Creech Coogars.
New boys Wiveliscombe made it three wins from three with a 6-1 victory over Bridgwater Grasshoppers.
George Sinnott was the top scorer with four goals, and Dom McFarlane and Tom Weltch added one each. Dan Saunders scored Grasshoppers’ consolation goal.
