Wessex fishing round-up
8:00am Saturday 28th September 2013 in Sport
A GREAT week on Clatworthy Reservoir with 373 fish landed at a rod average of 3.8.
The best bag of the week went to Mr M. Gale at 23lb; this bag included the best rainbow of the week weighing 10lb 2oz.
There were also good size bags caught by Mr R. Humphries, a bag weighing 17lb 8oz, and Mr G. Bennett had a bag weighing 16lb 4oz.
Fish have been found all over the lake. The bank is doing well from the lodge up into Rowes. The boats have done well in all the main areas of the lake and in particular the dam with the airline being on this week.
Tactics for the week have been floating and intermediate lines using small patterns with Hares Ear, Pheasant Tail and Diawl Bach. Fish have also started taking on fry patterns.
With the weather set to cool down the fishing should remain good using the same tactics.
l Hawkridge continues to fish well with anglers averaging 2.3 fish per rod.
Daddy’s, Buzzer, Diawl Bach and Montana are all working well on floating lines.
