Wessex fishing round-up
7:00am Saturday 21st September 2013 in Sport
ANOTHER good week’s sport at Clatworthy Reservoir with 93 returns catching 217 fish at a rod averageof 2.3.
Best bags this week were caught by Mr P. Snell, his five fish weighing 19lb 3oz in his limit, there was a 6lb rainbow as well. There was also a good bag for Mr D. Snell, his fish weighing 16lb 12oz.
The best season ticket limit was caught by Mr C. Hodge, 10lb for a four-fish limit.
Tactics for the week were similar to last week. Intermediate lines with Buzzers, Pheasant Tail Nymphs, Black and Peacock Spiders, Diawl Bachs, also some Daddies have started to show around the reservoir.
The best area is in the bay and at Rowes End but with not much water around the arm, boats have to be careful not to interfere with bank anglers. Also, the dam should fish well with the airline coming on.
Hawkridge continues to fish well with anglers averaging 2 fish per rod. Damsel, Black Hopper, Montana and Fry patterns are all working well just below the surface.
