5:50pm Friday 13th September 2013 in Sport
PADBROOK Park youngster James Reed won the Devon Under 14 scratch Order of Merit. The ten-year-old shot a six over par 78 at Borringdon Park to finish one shot ahead of his main rival to take the title.
James has already won two Devon under 14 events this season and helped the county win the south west title.
Padbrook lost 3-2 to defending East Devon league champions Honiton in their latest match.
Had they had been able to turn one of the three narrow defeats into victory Padbrook would have gone top of the league.
Richard Asson took the Andy Jermy Trophy.
The highlights of his 42 point stableford score included successive birdies on the 9th and 10th holes.
He has now seen his handicap reduced from 18 to 11 in eight days after his victory in the Trevor Barry Cup. Mark Want took second place with 40 points thanks to an excellent back nine.
