Burnham 2, Taunton 3 Burnham 2, Taunton 3

WITH no game for the last two weeks this showed as they started sluggishly and their cause was not helped when captain Carly Bush had to go off injured.

The visitors scored all three of their goals against the ten players to hold a healthy lead at the interval and it was to the home sides credit that they came back strongly to at least win the second half.

June England and Beth Ingram had good chances to get Burnham back into the game with the latter hitting the bar from close range.

Kerry Harvey also stabbed wide as Burnham worked valiantly to get back in the game.

Frost got a deserved goal after great work by Bush and Ingram down the left created the chance for her strike from top D.

Pearce almost got on the end of a fierce cross by Harvey and Glanville saw an effort from a short blocked as Burnham penned CS back in their own half.

Burnham's second saw Frost turn provider as she picked up the ball from the defence who had played their way out from the back and England this time was ideally placed to steer home at the back post.

Unfortunately, Burnham had given themselves just too much to do as they ran out of time searching for the equaliser.

Player of the match was Sian Kelly. Burnham travel to Taunton Vale next Saturday.
