BURNHAM United 'A' breathed life into their survival battle with an empathic 8-2 demolition of third placed St Georges.

Joe Beattie and Steve Leaf both went close with shots from distance as Burnham started the game well and it was no surprise when they took the lead through Dan Broome as he pressured a back pass to the St Georges keeper who sliced he kick allowing Broom to finish from a tight angle.

St Georges equalised soon after before James Chinnock scored from the penalty spot and then Claude Bitton beat three players to score and extend Burnham's lead at half-time.

Leaf made it 4-1, Beattie finished from the edge of the box to make it 5-1 and then there were further goals for Rob Burns and Bitton to complete his hat-trick.

Burnham face relegation rivals Axbridge Town at home next Saturday.

In Division Four, King Alfred Sports Centre produced a superb 5-1 win to haul themselves away from any relegation worries and up to fifth place.

They are at home to Worle Rangers this weekend.

Two late goals denied Burnham United 'B' the win in their Division Five clash with South Park Rangers.

The team went behind in the first minute but goals from Josh Rowley, Harry Wedgewood-Potts and a brace for Jack Hirons put Burnham 4-2 up at half-time.

But a late double in the last five minutes ensured the team's shared the spoils.

Wedmore Reserves lost 4-0 in their Division Six clash with Clapton in Gordano.

There was no game for Berrow Reserves who take on Churchill Club 70 Reserves at home on Saturday.
