TAUNTON Town entertain Abingdon United in the Evo-Stik League tomorrow (3pm) on the back of a 4-3 victory over Winchester City on Wednesday.
They then take on Frome Town in the quarter finals of the Somerset Premier Cup next Wednesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm.
With so many sides separated by so few points, the clash with Abingdon represents another crucial game for Town and gives them the chance to avenge the 3-0 defeat they suffered in Oxfordshire last November.
Rob Norrish, who has missed the last two games due to a groin injury, should be fit to return for the weekend clash but Khaled Badavi is still absent with the same injury and Ben Mammola is suspended following his dismissal against Didcot.
Wednesday’s Somerset Cup tie provides Taunton with their last chance of silverware this season and they will be boosted by the fact they have already beaten Southern Premier Division side Frome this season. Owen Irish’s goal gave the Peacocks a 1-0 victory in the FA Trophy in September. Taunton Under 18s went down 3-0 at Tiverton Town in the Somerset Floodlight Youth League on Tuesday evening.
The Peacocks were three goals down at the break after a shaky first 45 minutes but improved for the second half with the Tiverton keeper pulling off several saves to keep their lead intact.
The Under-18s travel to Bitton for their next league game on Monday evening, kick-off 7.30pm.
