Burnham 3, Taw Valley 1

BURNHAM got the new year off to a flying start as they continued their winning ways.

Carly Bush had to be alert in goal to make several important saves in what was an even first half.

Chelsea Fisher opened the scoring for the Blues with a well placed shot but Taw equalised almost straight away.

Burnham began to increase the pressure in the second half and Beth Ingram ran the show in midfield with Kerry Harvey always a willing runner. Along with June England and Alannah Frost they began to threaten Taw defence & create chances.

Frost and Harvey combined well down the right and following a mazy run and shot from an acute angle, Harvey scored to make it 2-1.

Burnham never looked back and England pounced on a loose ball in the D to make it 3-1.

Player of the match was Kerry Harvey, sponsored by The Rosewood. Next match is at Taunton Civil Service on Saturday.
